Evidence-Based Therapy Approaches in New York

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Your care should reflect the complexity of who you are.

My approach blends evidence-based frameworks with a relational, body-aware lens helping you understand patterns not just intellectually, but in a way that feels grounded and integrated too.

Because every person is different, therapy often draws from multiple approaches to best support your goals.

I offer these evidence-based therapy approaches to teens and adults throughout Nassau County, Suffolk County, and across New York State via virtual sessions.

Cognitive & Behavioral Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT helps individuals identify, challenge, and replace negative or irrational thought patterns with healthier ones to change behaviors and emotional responses

Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT): DBT builds mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT aims to change a person’s relationship with their thoughts by increasing psychological flexibility.

Trauma & Somatic Approaches

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): EMDR is designed to alleviate distress from traumatic memories by using bilateral stimulation while focusing on the memory.

Internal Family Systems (IFS): IFS aims to heal wounded parts of ourself by fostering compassion, harmony, and curiosity rather than eliminating these parts.
